By Anonymous Punta Gorda, FL September 8, 2004 -- How much can a dying man take?
42 year old Blais Ruelle of 2609 Rio Tiber, Florida has the worst possible form of Muscular Dystrophy , ALS (Lou Gehrigs). There is no cure and no treatment. Several months ago, he moved in with parents in Punta Gorda, FL. 33950.
One of the only pleasures in the time he has left is to go out fishing. He rented a boat from the neighbor for $200 per month. Blais took out heavy insurance on the boat since the neighbor neither had nor wanted insurance. He also spent thousands repairing and outfitting the boat.
One week after finishing the renovation, Hurricane Charley totals the boat. Neighbor says "Touch luck, buddy, it's my boat and pockets all of the $10,500 insurance check.
One week later Hurricane Frances floods town. Now he's sitting in a wrecked retirement community with no money nor equipment to replace boat-- waiting on Hurricane Ivan.
He said "All I had left was that boat and my once-a-week fishing trip.

WHAT:
The region’s only In-Water Boat Show is located at the ‘Gate-way to the Emerald Coast,’ Okaloosa
Island and the Emerald Coast Conference Center & Marler Park, which is the perfect location for
a Boat Show. Known for the emerald green waters and sugar white beaches, the Emerald Coast
has over 4 million visitors each year to the Destin/Fort Walton Beach area. The ‘World’s Luckiest
Fishing Village,’ as the area is commonly known was chosen for the show, because of the
conference center’s spacious facility and the boat and water oriented environment in and around
the Destin/Fort Walton Beach region.
The third annual Emerald Coast Boat Show offers excitement for boaters and
anglers of all ages. This new in-water boat show on Florida’s Emerald Coast is “goin’
fishin’” this year with a line-up of fishing related products, clinics and seminars.
In all, more than 400 boats of all types and sizes, electronics, engines and a vast
selection of marine accessories are expected at the show in water and on land.

By Anonymous Guidefinder, Inc. (Red Oak, Texas) announced it has launched three new lake portals Lake Lavon Fishing (www.lakelavon-fishing.com), Lake Whitney Fishing (www.whitney-fishing.com), and Lake Palestine Fishing (www.palestine-fishing.com). "We have actually gotten ahead of ourselves because of input from our surveys. These sites have all been launched as a result of public demand we received during fishing and outdoors shows we exhibited at this year. Now we are actively seeking local input and contributors for each lake to give us our local content. Our numbers from the web site activity are supporting this, with recent hit rates consistently exceeding 100,000 per week total for all of our existing sites. We expect this to grow throughout the summer and vacation season. The public support for the concept has been absolutely incredible." said Theo Hughes, President and CEO. These lakes will join the existing lake portals for Richland Chambers (www.rc-fishing.com), Sam Rayburn (www.samrayburn-fishing.com, Toledo Bend (www.toledobend-fishing.com), Lake Fork (www.fork-fishing.com), Caddo (www.caddo-fishing.com), Cedar Creek (www.cedarcreek-fishing.com), Monticello (www.monticello-fishing.com), Possum Kingdom (www.possumkingdom-fishing.com), Ray Roberts (www.rayroberts-fishing.com), Tawakoni (www.tawakoni-fishing.com), and Texoma (www.laketexoma-fishing.com), and the state portal, Texas Fishing (www.tx-fishing.com). Guidefinder is a privately held Texas corporation specializing in marketing, outdoor web sites, and services.
